DIGIPAS TECHNOLOGIES INC. is a California based company specializing in research, design and distribution of Digi-Pas® and eGeeTouch® brands products and services. We focus on in-depth research and development of leading-edge technologies and innovative products within specialised fields serving global niche market segments. The company is led by Dr Jim Li who attained a PhD from Cambridge University, UK and he owns over 50 granted patents in the field of advanced technology deployment to electronic devices and manufacturing processes. He worked as an R&D engineer at a large US instrument company before starting his own company in 1993, initially focusing on manufacturing of electronic modules for large Japanese multinational corporations.
In 2009, Jim pioneered the world-1st Digi-Pas® dual-axis precision digital level embedded with ultra-high precision MEMS technology which greatly contributed to precision engineering industries, as evidently used by some of the world’s most technologically advanced companies, research laboratories and government institutions such as NASA, Airbus, Space-X, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon , U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, Intel, Mitsubishi, Honda, DMG Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, BMW, US Naval Research Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, Cambridge University's Cavendish Laboratory etc. In 2014, he further pioneered the world-1st eGeeTouch® smart luggage lock utilizing leading-edge proximity-access security technology, and subsequently winning the world's largest Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2015 and CES 2016 Innovation Awards in successive years. These smart locks have also won New Product Award at Japan's largest DIY-Homecenter Tradeshow for three successive years in 2014, 2015 & 2016 and Germany's RedDot Design Award in 2017.
Dr Li published numerous papers in the area of new product introduction (NPI) strategy and manufacturing technology at leading international journals. Two of his papers were cited in a whitepaper published in 2014 by a governmental unit under Japan's Ministry for Economics, Trade and Industry (METI) on policy guiding Japanese promising SMEs to innovate and independently expanding their products and services into global markets instead of conventionally tagging along with their MNCs to internationalise. Presently, Dr Li is a visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge University, UK and he is also an Honorary Professor at Nottingham University Business School, UK.
Jim's entrepreneurial endeavor has led to the founding of DIGIPAS with its affiliated companies (known as Digipas Group) located at several strategic geographical regions. He brought with him over 20 years of experience in management and technical expertise.
