Q. Is DigiPas Digital Level calibrated/tested/certified by accredited 3rd party international independent bodies?

A. Yes. DigiPas Digital Levels are calibrated and tested by qualified 3rd party independent bodies in accordance to USA, UK and Japan measurement standards conformance such as UKAS, A2LA, and ILAC.
Click following link for samples of calibration certificate. http://www.digipas.com/Calibration.html

Q. What is the accuracy of the digital reading versus the spirit Vial or “bubble”?

A. The accuracy of DigiPas digital level is independent and higher than the built-in spirit Vial/Bubble. For example, the accuracy DWL 280 model is at +/-0.05° (refer to calibration certificate webpage), but the built-in Vial “bubble” accuracy is only +/-0.5° although the “bubble” seems rather sensitive.

Q. Why does the display reading ‘flicker’ during measuring?

A. DigiPas digital level will not display angle properly, may flicker or even shows no readings (depend on model) when it is not placed or used correctly. User must ensure DigiPas digital level placed on its designated base firmly (i.e. without rocking) on a surface to be measured.
Click the following video on how to proper use of DigiPas digital level http://www.digipas.com/Digipas Correct usage Page.html

Q. Why do we need the ‘Alternate Zero’ feature?

A. The Alternate zero function allows user to pick an angle and designate it as an "alternative zero angle point". This feature helps user to skip having to do the math for finding angles relative to a referenced angle set as zero degree. For example, if user has a table surface set at 5.0° and user would want to measure an object relative to the table. A DigiPas digital level could be placed on the table surface and pushed the "alt zero" button. Thereafter, user could measure the object placed on the same table surface (same direction) and if reading shows 10.0°. This means that relative to the table surface, the object’s angle measured is 10.0°. However, relative to the ‘floor’ where the table stands, the measured angle is 15.0°.

Q. How do I calibrate my Digi-Pas® digital level?

Q. How do I get a new Digi-Pas® digital level instruction manual?

A. Please download a copy of the instruction manual from http://www.digipas.com/Catalog.html.

Q. What is the accuracy of Digi-Pas® digital levels?

A. The electronic unit for the Digi-Pas® digital level has an accuracy of +/-0.05 or 0.1 degree (depending on model) and around 0 & 90 degree and +/-0.2 or +/-0.3 degree (depending on model) for other degrees. The spirit level that uses traditional vials has an accuracy of +/-0.1 degree.

Q. Why do I get different readings on the digital display when I turn my level around?

  1. For Digi-Pas® digital level models having a resolution of 0.05 degree (e.g. models such as DWL80Pro, DWL180, DWL280 and DWL600E), the tolerance of these digital levels at 0 and 90 degrees is +/-0.05 degrees. If the digital level is initially placed on the table and it reads 0.00 degree and thereafter when the digital level is turned 180 degrees and placed at the same place, it should read 0.00 or 0.05 degrees. If it displays neither those readings, recalibrate the level.
  2. For Digi-Pas® models having a resolution of 0.1 degree (e.g. DWL80G, DWL100, and DWL200), the tolerance of these digital levels at 0 and 90 degrees is +/-0.1 degrees. If the digital level is initially placed on the table and it reads 0.0 degree and thereafter when the digital level is turned 180 degrees and placed at the same place, it should read 0.0 or 0.1 or -0.1 degrees. If it displays neither those readings, recalibrate the level.

Q. What is the warranty for Digi-Pas® digital level?

A. Our company will repair the Digi-Pas® digital level for any defects in workmanship or materials at no charge for one (1) year from the date of purchase.

Q. Are the Digi-Pas® digital levels waterproof?

A. Yes. Digi-Pas DWL680 Pro Heavy Duty model is water, shock, dust and freeze proofs. However, the remaining models are dust resistant only. Water damage will void the warranty.

Q. How do I know when I suppose to calibrate my Digi-Pas ® digital level?

A. Whenever you have doubt over your digital level accuracy.E.g. when you unintentionally drop it or it was over heated under sun for too long etc. User may perform a quick check on your level by placing the level on a clean flat surface e.g. glass table, record the displayed reading and then take the level up and turn/revert its direction by 180° and place on the exact same location. It should display same angle with a different direction (or maximum allowable difference is the tolerance of 0.05° or 0.1° depend on model), the level does not need calibration. Otherwise, re-calibrate the level and it simply takes about 20 seconds for re-calibrating the level.

Q. Can I use the Digi-Pas® digital level working on top of hot surfaces?

A. The digital level performs within specification for the temperature range between 0 to 45 degrees Centigrade. Continuously putting the digital level on very hot surface can deform the plastic casing and damage the electronic unit, thus void the warranty.

Q. Can the volume of the buzzer be increased or decreased?

A. Yes. the buzzer can only be turned ON or OFF.

Q. Why does the Auto-OFF feature seem to turn off the display more than 3 minutes?

A. Digi-Pas® products are designed with intelligent software based on Embedded Technology. Whenever the level is “not is used” for 3 minutes continuously, the sensor detects the situation and automatically cut-off the power to preserve battery life. However, if the level is “being used”, it will extend the display for up to 10 minutes before cut-off the display.

Q. How do I turn the Buzzer On or OFF?

A. The buzzer can be turned On or Off by simply pressing the MODE button for more that 3 seconds while observing the buzzer sign on the display. When the buzzer sign appears, the buzzer is On, otherwise it is Off. Please note that the DWL80 series have no buzzer feature.

Q. What happen to the accuracy if digital level drops?

A. Likewise to any measurement instrument/tool, mishandling such as dropping a digital level to floor or storing it outside the specified temperature range could affect its accuracy. This is primarily due to structural deformation resulted from mechanical shock on impact when dropped and physical structure changes resulted from thermal expansion or contractions when storage temperature exits maximum specified range. However, unlike traditional ‘bubble’ spirit levels and many other digital levels in the market, all Digi-Pas® digital level is built with User’s Self-Calibration feature. This feature allows users to perform their own calibration without the need to sending to 3rd party testing laboratory when minor mishandling the device. At user’s convenient work site or field work, User’s Self-Calibration can simply reset the Digi-Pas® digital level back to factory preset accuracy whenever he/she is in doubt with the accuracy of the digital level.
